Bigs For A Day - Apes Caves

Oregon Active teamed up with the Big Brother Big Sister Program in hopes of helping to provide healthy outdoor activities while recruiting new “Bigs”. The Ape Caves formed when Mt. St. Helens erupted over 2000 years ago and formed a two-mile long lava tube. This under-ground fun allowed for a unique caving experience. Stumbling over boulders and trolling through the dark caves, the Urban Rangers were able to experience the unique geology of a lava tube.
